Just got this steering wheel in the mail from eBay, so naturally I just had to put it on right away! The truck came with a steering wheel from a 70’s ford. I put on this one I just got and I can’t put on the horn bezel. The steering column bolt is to long. My steering column was blue and painted over black and the steering wheel that came with the truck was blue, so it makes me think maybe the steering column was changed.. Do I have the wrong column? Are they that different? Do I have the wrong wheel? Did I put the steering wheel on wrong? Am I missing any spacers for the steering wheel? Just trying to figure this out.
Someone likely put a power steering column in from a later model. I have one from a 70' in a 65' had to cut off about 3/8 or so. There are articles on Fordification's site about the differences in steering columns.
