This is probably a stupid ask but does anyone have a picture showing where the stock seat mounting locations are in the cab? Mine is a '56 if it makes a difference. My assumption is on the 2 lateral "humps" in the cab with the attached nuts but the seats in my truck when I got it were not stock, didn't fit properly, and were mounted to holes drilled in the floor so I have no good reference. I have done a bunch of searching but nothing I have found so far confirms it.

Thanks!

There is 2 bolts on each side directly above the rear cab mounts and 2 more on the center dividing hump in line with the ones to the rear..

Those 2 bolts you see are what the back of the seat base bolts to..

All the work was put into the actual brackets / seat frame that the seats bolt on to. The bracket was for the 2 buckets plus the center console seat and the tabs that mounted to the floor board were at an angle, because I'm assuming the late 90's F150 floor board were not flush or flat. We just cut a section out of the brackets to shorten them and then we cut the angled floor tabs off and welded them at 90 degrees to match the floor of my 53.

I only had 6" to 7" to work with between the seats.

The original seat frame/bracket, it would fit in the cab, but the brackets were right on the edge of the cab.

After cutting a section out of the bracket and mounting tabs welding them back on to line up with my cab's mounting holes.

Take the truck in Monday morning for the interior. Pic's will follow. I don't know how long it will take but I got some ideas from the Nationals for how I want the bench seat to look.

Here we go. I hope I can post ok. Pappy hope some of this help.I am very pleased with the out come of the interior and it is so much more comfortable than the stock seat.

headliner with upholstered abs liner

stock bench seat stripped all the way down and used foam.

abs back panel upholstered also the b pilars with shoulder harness bracket

abs again upholstered . The design is followed into the kick panel.

used stock frame so I could mount back in same place. The adjusters were removed to lower the seat height. Yes those are Cornhusker floor mats.

Very nice!. Except for the floor mats but I don't want to derail this thread. (Go Hawkeyes!)

I like the stitching pattern. Subtle stockish theme like the rest of the interior.

Yes I do but I have to get them off the phone and onto here. May take a while . I took all the springs off of the bottom then had a metal shop put in 14ga sheet of metal that they contoured to the seat frame then on the back I left the springs and he just used the upholstery foam it made the back not as thick which is what I wanted so that way I sat further back and had more leg room like only a few inches but was enough to rest my throttle foot comfortably on the pedal. Now I can drive with out foot or ankle getting cramped up.

Not to change the topic but Fatfenders I miss the Big 8 and Big 12 days. This big ten crap is no good for a Ne boy. Nothing against Big 10 but all the guys that we used to give good fun crap to on game day is not the same. But then neither is Neb football. Thanks for the comments on the seat.

It is so easy to crowd yourself if the backrest is even a little too thick. I'm barely 5-10 and had to take my seat back and pay to have the padding reduced.

The upholstery looks nice, looks like you'll need to do some work on the weather stripping around your doors though..

Things change and Nebraska in the Big Ten makes sense I suppose. Nothing against eastern teams but they don't need to be in a Midwestern conference. It's all about the media money and big market viewers. I think you are stuck with us in the Big "whatever the number of teams is next year" for the foreseeable future. Hayden Fry was our new coach when I attended U of I and we somehow managed to beat the Cornhuskers in the season opener. It was the end of 25 years of futility and a memorable game for me. Competitive most years since. I remember the dominant Cornhusker teams very well.
