larger gas tank

Hey, I have been doing some research on a bigger gas tank. I don't want to fiddle with converting to dual tanks. You can buy a 38 gal replacement for the stock aft tank for $300 and up. You can also buy a stock 33 gal 78 bronco tank for $150. In my opinion, I can carry a 5 gal gas can for the extra $150 (or more) it would cost me. My question is: can this be done with a bronco tank and sending unit? It seems like the way to go to me. I can't get over the outrageous cost of the extra capacity tank

Has anyone done this, or does anyone think it can be done? Ted

Also make sure your mounts are going to work and if not that you fashion reliable ones. The sending unit shouldn't be a problem at all. Nor should the filler neck. Good thing about flexible hose
