Well, I final broke down and got a K&N filter for my Bronco, Can I expect more HP, better MPG or did I just add a nice red $40.00 air filter and a new sticker for the air box . On my GT, I can hear and feel a HP increase.
TIA
-Will
You may see some gain and notice some better throttle response. At least I did when I put mine in. But then my personal opinion is that all that silly contrived ducting of the intake plumbing has GOT to slow dow the air into the system. I'm still working out a method of fixing that that doesn't pull hot air in from under the hood.
Go to a junkyard and get the intake scoop out of a 460 equipped f series. this goes from the airbox to the radiator support. Pulls fresh cool air from behind the grill-really helps. About a five minute install-all the holes are in the right places and it just slips in place-wrestling it into place can be a pain but thats the only hitch - Dont try to replace the rubber hoses from airbox to throttle body with larger diameter pvc-ya lose intake velocity and it will be a dog
Nice tip bronc95. However I am currently in the process of turning the lower half of the airbox around so the intake hole faces the inner fender. From there I have some hairbrained ideas about ducting between the inner and outer fender. Will let everyone know how it turns out when I am finished.
