difference between 91 vs 68 spark plug
Why the difference between the '68 and '91 spark plugs? The Autolite 45 for my '68 300ci have a long insulator and seem to be running a little hot and a friend gave me some plugs for his '91 and they are Autolite 5125 and look a lot different. The insulator looks shorter but the center electrode looks longer than my 45's. Can I use these in my updated '68 with Pertronix ignition, coil and Accel 300 8.8 plug wires. I checked my timing and air fuel mixture and they are OK, it just looks like I could use a little cooler running plug. I would think that with fuel injection and all the computer stuff the '91 would run leaner and hotter and so would use a cooler plug to keep pre-ignition at bay. That's why I was looking at using these plugs.
