light weight hitch extensions

Do light weight hitch extensions exist? Mine is solid and weighs 20#. It would be nice to have one half that weight.

Yes, there are some that are not solid; I have some of each. Last one I bought for the front hitch is hollow, just carries my generator.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for. Etrailer has a series of sizes as do other websites and when I could not find a length I wanted, I just bought the parts, tack welded them and then had my local welding shop do the finish work to insure the quality of the weld, I think this one is about as light as you will find. It is hollow on both ends rather than solid on one end.

I don't have an 18", but I do have a 9" hollow that is a high-low so you can tow plus put a bike rack in the upper receiver that weighs 12 pounds. That one actually almost exactly the same length of metal overall as single 18" hollow extender. You can go to this website and you will see all the weights listed for what they offer and that might be helpful for you purposes.
