S, @redroad ... Are the green ones I have not so hard to get? Should I set them aside as opposed to painting them a tan color and find some different ones?
I would paint a different set, honestly, if it's not a lot of trouble for you. I rarely come across green panels of any shade. At least not ones in good, usable condition. Yours are a different shade than the set I found at the wrecking yard a few years ago. Took me a long time to come across a set.
Those must be the fancy ones... Mine are the plain jane plastic, avocado olive drab looking kind. I will scope out the J-yard next time for a different set. It's pretty tough to find a good clean set that haven't been drilled for screws, cracked and the like... Mine have ZERO issues. Even all the retainers are there and unbroken. Meh, I saw a new set on Bronco Graveyard in tan~ They want some pretty good coin for them though.
Yeah, I think the green set I found were off an XLT or Lariat. I don't remember. I just know it was a light jade supercab truck.
Yes, new ones are not cheap at all. I actually bought a set of "factory seconds" from Dennis Carpenter for my Bronco since I wanted a nice set and didn't care about the color. They sent me a couple mismatched panels with all sorts of colorful swirls in them from when they switch colors in the molds. Slightly cheaper, but not by much. I did that as I planned on painting them. They're still in the box in my back room, years later. lol.
Seems they are still difficult to get, i have a set of green ones in pretty good shape, not mint. But not cracked or broken. I also have a set of black ones i will paint the black ones to match my truck and save the green ones.

Yes, the olive green are the most difficult to find. There just weren't that many made.
Those are the panels mine had I presume. It now sports some very cheap looking replacements in green. I’ve thought about changing the interior to black panels/dash/seat, but I really dig the white headliner (and plan on doing the two tone white roof style at some point) and think it the black would clash with the green and white. Maybe someday they’ll make some good green repros.

Mine has the white headliner too. Oddly the rear trim is just missing so it's flopping down. Another project.
I have these tan ones in my attic. The passenger side speaker grate is broken and the finger cup is missing. They are yours if you want them. Just pay shipping and maybe a donation to the beer fund.
