Wheel offset for coil spring axle converted excursion
05 ex converted to 06 coil spring f350 suspension. Procom 33415's in the rear (going in as soon as I get them) and then I'll match the front with spacers
I'm having trouble in my head with wheels as far as offset. I want a 35" tire and slightly aggressive stance, wbut I don't want the tires more than flush or maybe 1" outside of the fender wells. Was wondering if anyone that did this swap has pictures with your setup? I can look at pictures of vehicles, but if I look at an excursion and then the specs for the wheels the individual is running, it's going to be different for me since my axles are wider. I can look at trucks I guess, but I have trouble visualizing the look on my ex.
I mounted 2016 Lariat wheels on mine. They don't stick out past the fenders, because the off-set is proper for the 07 axles I'm running (same as your '06 axles). As far as aftermarket rims go, I have no idea what the offset would need to be in order to match the stock rims Ford sold with these axles.
Stock 18 or 20 by 8 with +44 offset I believe. Im looking at a set of 18x9 for mine and to get close to stock backspacing I need +18 which is as high as I’ve been able to find. So it will be roughly a quarter inch less backspacing and be an inch wider wheel, the side wall should be about 1.25” further out on the outside of the truck compared to factory wheels
