Check Engine Light

I have a 1989 F-150 2wd that I bought from my brother in-law. When I turn the key I do not get a Check engine light. I took out the instrument panel last weekend and found that a wire that is suppose to go to the eec iv connector isn't there (looks like it was never installed). Also there is supposed to be a engine warning control module on the rear of the instrument panel but again this module is missing. I am getting all my wiring diagrams out of a chilton manual. I went to a ford dealership and they don't know squat about anything. They can't tell me what kind of pin goes to the connector on back of the instrument panel or a definate answer on what Part number the engine warning control module is. Does anyone out there have a clue what type of connector pin i need or how to get the engine warning control module.

- tested the computer with a diagnostic tester and it checks out good. although i have a egr problem on the koer test(no big deal) at least i know it's working right.

Check Engine Light

If it checks out fine on a diagnostic machine and seems to run all right, then why are you worried about it?
