On my Toro power head, can use other attachments, weed eater it would not start one day and kind of acted like the OP, start and die right a way.
I dont remember how I found it but the spark arrester screen was plugged.
Removed the screen and all was good and still working and it has way over 50 hours on it.
Now if I can find the bump line feed (or 2) for it I would be a happy camper

Most likely if you are sure the carb is good, check the tiny fuel lines. When you pump the lil bulb and no fuel than thats what is wrong. If you have no spark when it dies then its the power pack or wires. Or just get a 20 volt max Dewalt weed trimmer and a couple batteries and forget the gas job..... .....
Mine is 8yrs old and after a new carb and fuel bulb/lines is running better. I'm going to need a new one in the next couple years I think. Considering a Stihl. My blower from Stihl is great.
