Lightbulb Flash test

Thought I would try a little experiment with the new flash.
Prior to getting the flash I conducted a little test with the
Overhead mileage comp, since we all know the accuracy is
In question I used it only as a gauge to see what the difference
Was in the mileage with and without the flash under two circumstances.
I have a hill by the house and went out and ran from a stop to 40 mph then I reset the computer and coasted to the bottom of the hill so the comp mpg would max out, when I came to the stop sign I then I timed the length of time it took the mpg comp to reach 20.
I did this 5 times with almost the same results every time so I averaged the results, I re-checked this after the flash and noticed a considerable difference in the time it took to get to zero the post flash time was almost 8 seconds faster each of the 5 times than it was pre-flash the same conditions existed pre-flash and post i.e. same warm-up time same outside temp ect.
The second thing I checked was the highway mpg, I have a stretch of highway on my way to work that is about 10 miles long with few hills. I reset the computer upon entering the freeway and then drove 65 the entire time and recorded the mpg at the off ramp each time and came up with a average of 17.1 for the pre-flash time and 18.9 for the post flash average. I also noticed but do not know why, but the post flash results for each run were not as consistent as the pre-flash runs. Sometimes as much as a 1.5 mileage delta and the pre flash runs were all within .3 mpg.
This is in no way a scientific test but I think we can presume that the flash will usually give you more MPG but it also makes the truck run richer at idle which is probably the reason for the diesel smell with the new flash. I have the smell but usually only in the morning after I warm up or when I have been sitting at the stoplight for a longer than normal time.
Anyways I just thought someone other than myself might find this interesting.
Truck has 3269 miles on it.

I'm not sure about the 'richer at idle' but we do know that the pilot injection is now off...
meaning b4 it would inject a little bit of fuel at different intervals whereas now it just dumps it all at once...
Therefore it is LOUDER at idle and possibly not buring off the fuel as well???

Haven't noticed the smell, but have noticed the noise !
