Hello friends!
I have a question for friends to help me;
My 1951 F-1, V8 292 engine, has become difficult to pick up in a few months and, in operation, accelerating, it is no longer at full strength and sinking its foot on the accelerator, it is exploding.
the thing is ugly, I already threw oil to decarbonize it and it improved a little, it is certain that it has a cylinder holding it.
Without having to dismantle the engine, what else can I do to detach this cylinder?
I await the teachings of friends.
Check the spark plugs, see if they look good or not. Have you gave it a tune up (plugs, wires, cap/rotor, etc?) I'd also do a compression check, see if you have a dead hole or several.

this compression adjustment, can I do it or only in a specialized place?
mechanic who did the checks told me to throw OIL ON THE CARBURETTOR and go using it normally and see if it stops, which could happen to stop exploding. More does not guarantee that it will resolve. you agree! I noticed that it explodes when it forces. At idle it works well.
I believe your mechanic thinks there is a sticking valve (maybe more than 1). SLOWLY adding some oil (a SMALL amount, 2 teaspoons) down the carburetor while it's running will help free up the valve(s). If Marvel Mystery Oil or SeaFoam is available down there I would use that -- sparingly! Add some to the gas, too.

I'm doing this Albuq. I will continue to add in moderation. I realized that if I put in too much, I have trouble getting it to work. I will use it with caution. Thank you for now.

If you think you have a stuck valve, remove the valve covers and watch the valve train work. This can get messy in a hurry (oil squirting) but might be worth the mess to get to the bottom of it. I assume a stuck valve will eat a camshaft lob in a hurry.

will I ruin the engine if I don’t take it to the mechanic to fix it?

Possibly, your engine is not happy and it needs to be diagnosed, either by you or a mechanic. The person that told you to pour oil down the carb sounds like a farmer, that was not a professional fix or diagnosis.
