Problem SOLVED!

Its a little embarrasing...though...

I took some Jeep tires out of the bed today, and found...

guesses??

My extra key fob, with a very dead battery, under one of the tires

What a relief its not a module!!

I suppose I'll have to call off the exorcist!

Could still have been the premeditated, deliberate work of ghosts and goblins!!!

Glad you found the sneaky little critter!

Which goblin is responsible for puttin' that fob in the exact location where the tires would drive a poor guy insane - makes ya think, eh?

It's them madmen over at MOPAR fer cryin' out loud, contaminatin'his pickup with Jeep parts and all, then slipping the fob just so's it goes off and irritates all his co-workers and neighbors. The voodoo hex from FTE is headed to your local MOPAR dealer gar'nteed.

I'm sorry... I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing with you.

Seriously, though, I'm glad you found the ugly gremlin causing you all this grief, and didn't have a tough fix.

I've read this post 'cuz I'm having the same "ghost" alarm. The fob's at home but the thing went off 5 mi. from home, while I
was in a tree stand 1/4 mi. from the car ('97 Explorer). New (car)battery too. Actually, I'd like to disable the thing permanently. How might I do that ?
T.i.a.,

Well JuniorMac, be thankful you saved face and didn't take it to a Ford Service Center and have them find the cause, that would have been slightly embarassing. The Ford techs would of been talking about it through Christmas, "Man, you wouldn't believe this guy brought in a truck with the panic alarm going off. He had the FOB in the back of truck and some tires were setting it off, but we told him it was a short in a wire, charged him $550.00 to troubleshoot and put the FOB in the cab so he woudn't know the real cause." Great job, I'll definitely keep that in mind in the event I ever have a similar situation...

That's what I'm hoping, some kind of code like the keypad one that turns off the auto door locks. Manuel says nothing. I'd cut a wire if I knew which one.
Thanks. Anyone ?
