What model tranny???
`79 f100, 4 speed O/D, the one with the linkage on the side of tranny, what kind of tranny is it, is it a good tranny?
I had an `82 dodge truck with the same set up, were these trannys used across the industry or did ford make there own?
Just like to know what my trucks made of LOL, I was considering swapping it for a Granny 4 speed but have decided to keep the O/D, thanks for bearing with my stupid questions.....

Not stupid at all. What you have is the T170F (Code -RUG) tranny. I don't believe any other mfg used this tranny but Ford and they made a version for the passenger cars also, only lighter bearings, etc.
Not a bad tranny if you don't abuse it.
