I'm totally new to carburetors. I installed an edelbrock 600cfm carburetor on my 360. It starts and idles perfectly. If I accelerate slowly it will act right but if i give it a little too much throttle it acts like its flooding. I've adjusted the floats, the idle air mix, and have tried all three slots for the accelerator pump. I've even tried it without the accelerator pump connected. I've done the timing as well. The distributor has new points, rotor and cap. New plugs, wires, and coil. New fuel filter with a new fuel regulator. The electronic choke works properly as well. I've tried different timing as well as with and without the vaccum advance. I'm stumped as to what is happening. The carburetor is brand new. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'd say you have a faulty carb. The Edelbrock's are not exactly what I would pick as a first choice in an aftermarket 4bbl carb.

well funny story. Somehow my throttle return spring was hooked on the coil mount. Every time I gave it a decent amount of throttle the spring would flex and arc with the coil. Happen to catch the arc out of the corner of my eye. Moved the spring and the truck runs perfectly.
If you have a fuel pressure regulator, then I assume you have a fuel pressure gauge. Check for proper fuel psi as Christmas stated.
Did you check your vacuum when adjusting the timing? You did what I did and fixed/repaired/replaced so many items that you have a lot of variables as to what the problem could be. Get a checklist sheet together and start checking boxes.
