My new to me F350 has the 2 factory bed lights and I was wanting to add more especially for when I get my retractable bed cover on it. Has anyone tapped into the wiring for the existing lights? Any problem with doing that? Any recommendations?
I tapped into the driver's side bed light to run a 16' 12V LED strip along the rails of my bedcover. No issues with it and I like that it's tied into the same switch as the main bed lights.

Like this! Any info on the 16" 12V LED strip you used? (Link?)
I have a Bakflip mx4 and was always dark. I ran 12v strips on both side rails for the cover and another strip attached to the cover for the back side.
I tapped into the plugs under the cab for illuminated running boards. Seems most trims have the plugs. Ran strips along the boards in the pinch weld at the same time.
These turn on when you unlock the truck and when you turn the cargo lights on.
Works perfect for walking up and opening up tailgate to light vs finding the cargo light button in the dark.
