Driveshaft issue
So I just want to make sure that I'm not losing my s#%@. 1986 Ford F250 460 4wd. Pulled the motor...had it rebuilt....putting everything back together....last piece...Front driveshaft. Now it's shorter than when it came out.
Question....what exactly did I F up? Or...does the driveshaft magically expand? Again...I'm 3 steps below an amateur.
Thank you Everyone. You guys and gals are a phenomenal resource for an idiot like me. And I just love those Fords....even though it's killing me.
Have you asked google the question, may be the answer is out there... See the picture it might give you a hint.

I second this it's likely the issue.
Just a word of advice pull the driveshaft apart clean the splines and relubricate them before you reinstall the drive shaft.
