Carburetor help needed
I have a question on the correct carburetor my truck should have. I completely restored (down to the linkage plating) the Holley 2300 2 bbl carburetor off my 1960 Ford F-100's 292 V8 a year ago. After borrowing a neighbors Holley carburetor book for some fun reading, I am now wondering if my truck originally came with a Holley 2 bbl carburetor. When I decoded my carburetor list number, it states the carb was built on the 201st day of 1961, but has the original Ford part number stamped above. My truck was made in December 1959. Also, after going to a junk yard nearby which has nothing but 40's-60's cars, and looking at four 292 engines (not sure from what vehicles they came), I noticed all had Carter 2 bbl carburetors on them. With all said, what carburetor did my truck originally come with. The truck is a 1960 F-100 with a standard 292 2bbl, three speed manual transmission, and was built in San Jose on December 1959.
