I have a 06 expedition, I recently bought a motor 5.4, but when I took it to the man to put in he says it's the wrong motor that it want bolt up to transmission. I need a 5.4 3v I bought a 5.4 2 v .. is this true are the bolt patterns different.
My timing chain broke a year ago I paid 1800 to get it fixed drove it 2 days an the low oil pressure light came on.. not sure if I need a new motor or just get oil pump replaced.. I have been having trouble finding a motor at a reasonable price..
Probably what happened was the mechanic that did your timing chain work did not remove the oil pan and clean out the debris from the oil tube pickup screen and the oil pump is just being starved of oil. Remove the oil pan or use a bore-scope camera to examine the oil pickup tube screen for blockage. You'll probably find many of the busted parts of your original timing chain guide still stuck in the oil intake screen. Shouldn't cost more than a few hundred bucks to remove the oil pan and clean the debris out. Don't use the same mechanic that did the timing chain work. Use 5w-30 synthetic oil when they refill the oil pan.

It's true, the motor won't work in your truck. The engine is functionally different and the computer in your truck isn't made to control the 2v version.
