It's my understanding the newer high tech SYNC 3/4 type stuff is not effected. It's the "old school" stuff like ABS and ignition controllers that are in short supply. That architecture has not changed much in years, needing to remain rugged and simple. But the machines and tooling to make those chips have become scarce as the markets for that kind of stuff shrinks.
