Honestly, that's what I had heard as well, and was the reason I had reached out so that I could make sure I had a 2023 ready to go if needed. Maybe he's full of crap or maybe they are extending an extra service. He did mention that he would be in touch as soon as it was rolled into a 2023 order to make any adjustments as necessary based on model year changes... IDK My 2012 Ecoboost was a great truck, but has been a nightmare over the past year and I can't wait to get rid of it.
It just sounds like the dealer is going to actually submit an order on your behalf and then reach out cause they're going to need to get a copy of your license at a minimum to hold the order through Ford.
My brother has a 13' ecoboost since new and it seems to be turning into a money pit. Original owner but for a 10 year old truck it has had 10x more stuff replaced than my 95 F350 w/460 with the same amount of miles. That worries me about my 22 F350 10 years from now. It cost me 10x more than I paid for my 95 but if it costs me 10x more in maintenance costs over 10 years I'll consider that a fail.
Can you refresh my memory if I explain the process wrong:
get railcar info from ford customer service or from dealer
call CSX and give car number
receive location
I can't recall where I got rail number from but I know it wasn't the dealer
I got the railcar info from Ford Marketing. CSX number is 800-235-2352. The voice recognition is terrible and you may have to try multiple times to get it right.
For those that may have their truck on the same train, here is an update of Norfolk Southern car TTGX985818:
Arrived St Louis 09/14, 04:15
Departed St Louis 09/15 AM hours
Ferguson, MO 11:30 AM
Wentzville, MO 12:30 PM
Clifton Hills, MO 5:30 PM
Arrived Norfolk Southern Voltz yard Ramp CA6P Kansas City, MO 8:30 PM. (Also known as the Birmingham yard)
Now, how long will it take to be unloaded/loaded for final delivery to a dealership 24 miles north?
For those whose truck sat at a railyard for weeks on end, get yourself some Iron X and wash down the truck. Bet it will be a purple mess when you spray it. Do that before you clay bar it.
Carpro IronX is good stuff, however, the dealer will be cleaning the rail dust and clay barring the truck before I will take possession! I've already had that conversation with the sales manager!

Hope they do a better job than some other dealers do. I sort of recall a dealer whose touchless bay got handy grabby.
Salesman emailed me that it will go into production during the week of Sept 5th.
Window Sticker was available on 8/29/22, "In Production" 9/7/22. 10 Days now with no change in status, is this normal? I also cannot open the Window Sticker anymore on the Ford Tracking page. Anyone else have this issue?
Also when did Ford scrap Admiral Blue for Navy Pier on the interior? Slightly pissed since I loved the look of Admiral Blue when I saw it in person.
My truck is built, the week of August 22nd, but website says in production. I found out it's been sitting in Kentucky Motor Speedway for a more than a week now. But the truck is basically finished its just waiting for some part or another. My dealer thinks it's the winch. Im not so sure.

I think the dealer installs the winch after it arrives

I'm in a similar situation. My truck went into production on Aug 19th, still shows "In Production" on the Ford tracking website. My salesman says it's "Built," but parked and waiting for microchips. No estimated timeline.

yeah we’re in good company I was told first hand information that it’s sitting there along with 6-7 thousand other trucks.

yes it’s dealer installed but it’s got to be supplied by Ford. That’s just what the dealer said that it’s the winch they’re waiting on. I’m not sure about that though. Makes no difference anyway it’s there, it’s there. 😆

Not certain but I believe those are 2 names for the same color. Did you get the MC seats?
