New exhaust, lean condition
Okay. I wanted to redo the exhaust on my truck. 94 ford f-150 302. It's got an m5r2 5 spd and is 4 wheel drive. The motor went so I threw a 302 out of a 93 t bird into it. I used all the top end to keep things the same. Plenum, intake, etc. I put long tube headers, 2 1/2 exhaust, and straight pipes in it. Each pipe has its own magnaflow high flow converter and its own flowmaster muffler. The problem is the truck is running super lean. The dis is dropped in properly and is timed to 10 degrees btdc. I did pull the ground bar when I did this so I was doing base timing. I put a scan tool on it and it was showing -50 on the fuel trim mixture which is way lean. I've been told I need to convert to a mass air flow sensor because the map senser won't work with the bigger exhaust. Anybody know what I should do or how to correct this?
