V-10 uses oil???
My 99 V-10 has a mere 59,000 miles on it and at every oil change(2000 miles), it's about 1 1/2qt low. Using Motorcraft 5W-30 and this engine doesn't leak a drop. This engine has not been abused and never modified. Only once in awhile will I pull a trailer, other than that, it's back and forth to work. Are all V-10's like this or do I have a "bummer"?

If you have a little time on your hands, do a search in this forum where you can find some causes.
BTW - have you checked the little 90 degree elbow at your throttle body that connects to the PCV on the passenger side? Those things are made from "gum" rubber (it seems) and fails about 55 to 60K. It doesn't allow your engine to breathe well and could be part of the problem.

I'm using a little over 2 quarts of 10W-30 dino Pennzoil between 3000 mile changes with 93,000 miles on the clock. I bought the truck from a used truck dealer who had 4 of them and said they were ranch foremen trucks from Oklahoma. In previous threads on this subject most posters (postees?) cited no usage, so, because my truck had been maintained by a Ford dealer and I couldn't see any obvious causes I was inclined to attribute the oil usage to ranch dust that may have gotten through the air filter causing some ring wear. These posts make me feel a little better, perhaps it's not the rings and it will stay where it is and not get worse. I can live with the 2 quarts versus a re-ring job or an engine. Thanks for the hope.
