Does the engine draw air from behind one of those areas? I have a 2019 Lariat and hesitate to block any of what I consider to be already limited grill openings.
I have been looking at that myself. I just installed the Baja Designs fog light bucket kit with the squadron sports and I'm looking to put some lighting a little higher up. I have seen several light bar installs, but favor something behind the grill. Right now I am considering 2 10" light bars in the gaps left and right of the Ford emblem near the top. FWIW, if you install the fog pocket lights it's easier to pop off the plastic bumper cover in the pocket, 2 spring clips that can be accessed from the back rather than prying the lights out.

Looking at photos and video with the grill removed on the 2020+, it doesn't appear that those side vents are providing much air flow to anything behind them. It is almost entirely core support and plastic behind that area.
Speaking of 19 though, I've been planning to add those RC 8" grill lights to my Lariat. Those do appear to block airflow.
