Not new, but returning!

It's been quite a few years since I have been on this site. I used to have an 89 F-250 that has since been sold and I even had a thread for my great-grandfathers 66 F-100 that I have since acquired back in 2017. You can find the old pictures of that one in my old threads and I will be posting some more up to date pictures in a new thread in the coming days. I have had over a dozen other projects in the years since I was last active here. Hoping to get started on the 66 sometime this fall/ winter after I get my GMC back on the road and reliable again. Haven't been too active on forums over the last few years and hoping to be a little more active as the facebook groups are mostly just for-sale ads nowadays.

Well guys, I seem to be in kind of a predicament. The vin/ warranty tag on the door got removed many years before I got my hands on the truck. One of my family members (none of them can remember who it was registered to last) misplaced the title to the truck. I have looked on the front passenger side of the frame to see if I can find the VIN number there with no luck at all. Either it was never there, or it was stamped so lightly that the surface rust on the frame ate it away. I'm not able to pull the cab right now to see if it is still visible there. Any hints/tips/tricks on what I can do to find the VIN for the truck? I really don't want to have to buy a whole other truck to use the body from just to get a title.

I think your best bet would be to go ask the same question in the "1961 - 1966 F-100 & Larger F-Series Trucks" forum.
