warning buzzer driving me nuts

the door ajar ding dong still sounds when the door is shut, don't ding, but has a highpitched sound. driving me nuts. If I could find it, would probably tear it out, or has ford hooked it to domething you can't live without? : mad:

It sould be visible, open the door, listen for it and track it down.. It's about in the middle of the dash, at least it was on my 94.

there is a wiring harness thats underneath the dash (by the ash tray) If you disconnect it, the chime stops. I've had mine unhooked for several years and everything else seems to be working fine.

nother problem

thanks for all the replies, but now I just had a new one crop up. Was smelling gas, got under ,and where the 1\4 inch plastic line and the 1/4 inch metal line at the sending unit are connected with a hairpin clip, it is leaking badly. Question is, can that connection be repared with new o rings, or what?
