+/- on drive mode

On the F250gear selector there is the drive mode selector which I understand...but there is also a =/- selector on the same handle,what does it do? Thanks

Used in manual mode or in drive. You can lock out gears.

Pressing the - button while your driving will lock out a gear each time your press it, for example if you have the 10 speed, pressing it once will disable 10th gear, press it again it will disable 9th gear, and so on.

My 2020 SXT 6.2 6 speed transmission drives so much better with 6th locked out and sometimes 5th and 6th.

+/- on drive mode

Agree with previous post, 6.2, 6 speed, heavy towing. In steep hilly country such as West Virginia, lock out 5th and 6th. In mild hills, lock out 6th. East coast VA to FL, much of Midwest, no lockout.
