My 2011 F250 KR truck has been leaving spots of what I thought was oil on the ground. It has 162k babied miles. I cleaned up the side of the engine and underneath really good, drove a bit and then snapped this picture below. It looks more like diesel fuel than oil. Could that be what it is? If so, is this a common problem? I tried searching but didn't come up with anything definite. It is coming from #4 (passenger side, rear).
How do I diagnose so that I can buy the correct parts?

hard to tell without looking. if you reinstalled something, I'd say a pinched o-ring. but otherwise you are ognna need to do some sleuthing. i would start by cleaning up the area so you can spot any new wet spots. this should point you in the right direction
