That miter saw thread reminded me of the GM commercial where a doofus with a clipboard is asking all of the GM mechanics whether or not they're Mr. Goodwrench. At the end of the ad, he asks a mechanic what kind of a tool Mr. Goodwrench would be, were he a tool at all (IMO, he's definitely a tool ). Anyway:
"A wrench," the mechanic says.
"No," says the doofus. "The answer we were looking for is miter saw...."
That doesn't really make any sense, though. Why would Mr. Goodwrench be a woodworking tool when he's supposed to represent quality in automotive maintenance? Maybe it's some kind of post-modernistic irony that's over my head or something, but I kind of think the ad people just didn't put much thought into their joke.
See, I found that funny. You really had to see that guy's work on The Daily Show on Comedy Central to appreciate his humor. It's flat out inane, which is a nice relief for me. The obvious answer is a wrench,, therefore the answer of "miter saw" was completely ridiculous,, thus the humor
I think it's supossed to be something like where the guy asking the questions knows nothig abotu mr goodwrench or anything like that...so saying "miter saw" further shows he knows nothing...that's how i think of it
