If you plan on replacing a few COP's, then I would suggest on making the investment in a COP tester. They can be had for as cheap as $35 on ebay. I picked one up for a piece of mind considering that I may have to replace a few COP's in the future. Considering the price of replacing 10 of them... what's $35 more... Or you could use the tester to very easily identify exactly which ones to replace and save the money on replacing them all.

Well, boots are $40 + cops tester $40, vs 10 new cops for $140. It will be 150K or more before I replace; hopefully :-)
It's a 4h job the first time. Probably 3 the next.
I was able to stand on a small 2 step stool and with a heavy blanket just lean over the grill, radiator, etc and reach everything. Im 5 9. I did back up the stool with a heavy item to keep it from pushing back. For me this was better than lying atop the engine. I also have a bright led headlight that was a must. I only removed the big air intake - hose clamp and buckle at the filter. Drivers side is easy. 3 of passenger side are easy. Back 2 are tricky but get it as clean as possible and work mostly by feel. I could see the cops bolt to remove it, just not the plug hole. All my plugs came loose easily. I worked them out & in a bit to lessen risk of stripping but 3/8 ratchet was all the leverage needed.

For me the back two on the passenger side took almos as long as the other 8 because it's all by feel. Glad it fixed your issue and thanks for reporting it back. Someone else will benefit from that!
