Several weeks ago before our rare snow and below freezing temps, I had my non blowing cold A/C evacuated and put a new accumulator and orifice on and a complete recharge. The A/C worked great then the storm hit and I haven't used it in about three weeks until today. It is not blowing cold and the compressor clutch turns on and off every three seconds and the radiator fan is working. We did put dye in the system and I have a black light and see no signs of leaking (which means nothing) because I have never seen it leak.
So the symptom is not blowing cold at all and the compressor clutch turning on and off every three seconds. Simple gauge on the freon can shows in the green when the clutch engages. I do have a Harbor freight cheap manifold gauge but not real familiar with it since my work was done at a friends shop with a computer A/C system when we put the accumulator on etc. Any ideas what I can check to see what is going on? As always thanks for any help. Sandy
I was low on freon and I think my low pressure Schroeder valve may have been loose just a tad. Anyway it is blowing cold and I'll see if it last. Sandy
