I have a 2020 F-250 XLT and I tow my boat with this truck. I would not mind adding the trailer TPMS to the trailer. Am I able to do this with my truck? I do not have the max tow package. The kit that I am looking at is LC3Z-1A189-E. The next question is do you all thing that the trailer mounted sensor is submersible? Thanks in advance!!
At this Ford Dealer's parts page it says: Vehicle must be equipped with the Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System (874).
It may be possible to activate the TPMS part of it with FORScan. Check the FORScan thread for more info.
I have the TPMS and camera system. My TPMS receiver is located under my RV trailer which does get wet but never submerged. The part looks to be sealed, so maybe it's waterproof.
You may spend less money by going with an aftermarket system that uses your smartphone to show the pressure instead of the dash screen.
Ya, I was thinking of getting the TMPS and Camera kit, but maybe just 3rd party TPMS and Camera. It will probably work better and be cheaper. The ford parts are like $700, plus I need to install the TMPS sensors, because I don't think my 5th wheel came with them. I can just get a third party TPMS with the screw on sensors.
The next question is do you all thing that the trailer mounted sensor is submersible? Thanks in advance!!
I’m using the Ford TPMS kit on my boat and it works great. I don’t know if it’s submersible, but you mount the sensor on the very front part of the trailer, so it’s not an issue.
