The manual steering gear on my 69 f250 4x4 is leaking so I'm going to have to replace/repair it before I can get it safetied. I really want to do this as quickly as possible. I'm going to be installing ps in the future so i have 2 questions and yes i have done a search. The info I found was mixed.
1) How easy is it to replace the seals in a manual gearbox? Previous posts seem to apply to ps boxes.
2) Is the bendix box an easy swap for this application? I know I'll have to weld a plate to my frame for the box. Other than that what is involved? Do i still have to cut my steering column? Which bendix boxes will fit? f100 AND f250 boxes? Which years? Are there bendix boxes from other applications that would fit? What kind of draglinks are you guys using?
