4.56 is a really low gear! Even with 38s, I would run 4.11 or maybe 4.30s instead. 4.56s would give you all low end but it might hurt you on the highway even with the overdrive tranny. Just my 2 cents!

I show about 2822 rpm at 70mph. "38 inch tire with a 4.56-no OD" I'm not sure what a E40d is...???Is that the EAOD automatic?? If so, and the OD is .67, you would turn about 1891 rpm at 70 in OD. MK

I would go with 456s for those 38s. every inch bigger in circumference of tire you go drops your rearend gear 0.1 so say you started outed factory 3.55 and probably about 29 inch tires. 38s are 9 inches bigger. 4.56 - 0.9 = 3.66 gear with that conversion putting you right in the ballpark of factory specs.

i have 4.56 in my 93 with 35" dunlops, actually measure just at 34" and i take it on the highway, even in OD the rpms at 70 are REALLY high, about 2800. I think 38's would put you right where you want to be with 4.56 gears. I'm also planning on going to 38's next year.
