My wife and I bought a 2021 explorer 2 weeks ago with only 6 miles. It now has right 450 and today on its first start, we got an auto Hold system fault displayed on the dash. After driving for a few miles and turning the car off, the fault went away. Has anyone had any experience with this issue? This is our first brand new vehicle and we had a flat tire after day 1 and now this.

I have been experiencing this as well. I have a 2020. It has been to the dealer a few times for this issue. They told me they have never seen this. First they replaced the gateway module. It is currently back there and they are replacing the instrument panel module to try to resolve it (they reached out to Ford corporate for help). Funny thing is they gave me an explorer as a loaner and I got the auto hold system fault message on it too.

Thanks for the reply. That's rough. Thankfully we haven't experienced this since I posted it. Please let me know what happens that way if it comes back I can relay the fix.

Of course. I did notice it only happens when I remote start it so it could be something related to that. Who knows...

I got the car back yesterday and still got the error, so those weren't the appropriate fixes
Same thing happened to me today (3500 miles on it). It happened when I did the remote start. I turned the car off and then back on, it was gone. Anyone get it diagnosed properly yet?
So after living with the auto hold system fault for merely a year fingers crossed it is fixed. I took my car in for an oil change and asked them to look up TSBs for the auto hold system. They found one that Ford released about a month ago and said it should resolve the issue. They reprogrammed the ABS module. The TSB is 21-2276
I've been having the same issue along with the GPS not engaging...the last time it sent me across a lake to get where I wasn't going. Will follow-up with my deal.
