Leave side steps down?

With all the snow the steps have a nasty amount of crud up against the body. Id like to go thru the carwash with steps down. Is there a away to have them down without a door open?

Yes, it is the dash menu. I'm not in my truck at the moment to give a step by step. They will retract at something like 3 mph though. No way to override that.

Secondary option is to just step on it immediately after you close the door. It’ll sense an obstruction then stay down. I do that on occasion in parking lots if it is a little tight. If another car door dings you, it is on the step and not the door panel.
Tougher to use that at an automated car wash when you’re inside the truck-need to do the dash selection then.
