Limp mode?

Sorry for the late replys I've been driving the truck all day and didn't have an issue untill later tonight I went to go into town and the OD light started flashing and same deal. To me sounds like a lose connection somewhere but I don't understand why it would make the truck sound like its missing on the passenger side.

Actually had the same thing happen, truck would only idle, so i moved the shift lever to a different gear and actually saw a little puff of smoke from under the column cover, sure enough there was a short!
the wire that feeds your OD button so yes it is a transmission issue!
