1995 302 timing

1995 302 timing
Set my timing with spout disconnected. When I reconnected spout only saw 3' timing change. Does anyone know how much spout should change timing? Also why it would not.

well its controlled by the ECM, but most important is how does it run? any problems? disconnect the battery for 10-15 mins. to clear the codes, then if it runs ok drive it for a couple of days and see if it stores any new codes and go from there. DW

3 degrees only at idle or also at higher rpm? With spout disconnected timing should stay at base no matter what rpm. Should advance with spout connected and increase with rpm. ECM watches IDM(ignition diagnostic monitor) from ign module. But if ECM doesn,t see this it will set a code.
