Purchased a used 1405 Edelbrock with a electric choke on it. The choke has a vacuum port coming out the bottom. Where should it be connected or can I just leave it plugged?
Runs fine plugged. Unplugged the motor idles with a miss.
Have a performer intake with Edelbrock air cleaner, 351 W motor.
Thanks for the info. I am one of those people that wants to know why is it there if it is not to be connected. I have looked at other carbs and the port is not there. I was having problems until I replaced the plug, dry rot.
My mistake, by plugging it with a new plug, I developed a problem with it surging and dying at stop lights. Will replace with old cap and see if it goes back to where it was. That port seems to do something, any feed back would be appreciated.
I believe that it is supposed to have a solid plug pressed in it. If you plugged it and the idle changed, then I would try readjusting the mixture screws on the front of the carb.

It looks like at rubber tube connector, look at link attached and it is where the 9 arrow is pointing.

I was going to e-mail you a picture to see if we are talking about the same thing, but you have e-mail turned off. E-mail me and I will reply with a picture of my carb to see if we are looking at the same thing.
