I've asked this question before, but I'm considering having my 1993 F-150 302 decarboned. It has almost 90k, and runs great, uses no oil, etc.
What are some advantages of doing this? Will I gain anything? Is it really important?

If the engine is properly tuned & had regular oil changes then you shouldnt have a carbon problem , at least to the point where the engine would have to be disassembled to clean it .
I have had this same process done to my truck, and I can tell you this for sure. It definitely does work, you can stand (at the shop I go to anyway) right there and watch while the engine is running on the machine. I stood there for an hour and watched as the hesitation, and the intermittent miss disappeared.
