Took it back in today. Been about 500 miles since my last dealer visit. Obvious oil coming from the front of the motor. The tech decided to order the crankshaft seal and bolt to fix the leak. I will update upon completion of the job.

Bummer about the leak atleast it happened while in warranty.

if that were my truck i would fix myself...warranty or not

after watching that video: air hammer, crank bolt spec "tight", etc

Probably not the case, but doesn't hurt to check top of motor for what ever crankcase ventilation these motors have...make sure everything is connected, no hose cracks, PCV valve (if it has one) is okay, etc. Also check valve covers and such for oil leak.

The worst thing with some of these warranty issues is, not so much the issue, but waiting for parts that are OOS. Some of those waits are substantial. If your issue is critical, that's bad news.

The part still hadn't come in last month at my local Ford dealer. I traded back in to the dealer I bought it from with the leak not fixed.
