Rebuilt e4od stalling at a stop
Transmission shop took it apart and determined I needed a whole new core. The core was rebuilt and installed and the truck runs great and shifted great for about a week. The truck began to stall out when coming to a stop, similar to when you come to a stop and have a car in gear with a manual transmission and it stalls out. It doesn't always do it, but it behaves this way about 50% of the time. The transmission shop took it in and determined it needed the torque converter swapped. They swapped it out for free since I have a 6-month warranty on the transmission work but I picked it up last night and after 10 or so miles coming to a stop it started to stall out again.
The truck will stop stalling when I throw it into neutral, but when I put it back into drive it stalls out hard. The truck starts back up when I put it in Park and putting it back in Drive works and drives fine for another few miles and then coming back to a stop it'll sometimes behave the same way and stall.
I don't know anything about automatic transmission as all my previous cars and trucks have always been manual but it feels as if it's still "in gear" when coming to a stop as it'll keep churning and want to move forward aggressively moreso than the typical forward crawl on an automatic car in Drive.
I'm going to take the truck back to the shop Monday morning, but the guy that runs the shop admitted to me that he's stumped. Any ideas on this forum on what it might be?
Thank you
