My father and I restored my truck about 10 years ago. It seemed that we never got to everything when working on the truck. One of the things that we didn’t get to is the door seal retainer. We had to weld new rockers in and I ended up going with the chrome rocker panel cover. The issue is it has no retainer (maybe it came with one and we never installed it). I am now to the point of wanting to put the seals on the doors and I’m not sure what to do. Do they may a chrome retainer? If the donor if they don’t, can I install this with pop rivets since I can’t weld to the chrome? Do I even need this seal? I would love to ask my dad as he was the expert on these trucks but unfortunately he passed a few years ago. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know everyone loves pics so here is my truck.
