For any of you whose truck didn't come with the factory Box Lights or those like me who didn't order them, I believe I have found an alternative. I ordered some very inexpensive rechargeable LED lights to wear on my head while walking, working, etc. When I received them, I realized if I just removed the strap and backer piece, they would work perfectly as box lights. They have 2 COB lights which are "wide angle" and a center light which is more focused and brighter. Multiple levels of intensity on each. Plus red leads if you're feeling like jazzing things up. 😊
They are IPX4 rated to resist water and are kinda protected up under the bed rail. On the bottom is the covered recharging port. They're supposed to last 4-10 hours on a charge. Just mounted them to the box light cover plate with 3m mounting tape.
So if you just need some occasional light in the bed, these may work nicely. Time will tell on mine. (I have no affiliation with Amazon or the folks selling these. Just thought they were pretty nice and cheap)
