1993 F150 Leaf Spring Question

I am currently in the process if installing a 2.5" lift kit on my 2WD 1993 f150 XLT with a 5.0L 4 speed auto transmission with 3.55 gears.

I just finished up with the front and realized the truck does not sit level in the rear so i am going to replace the springs and both shackles while i am under the truck.

I have narrowed it down to two different springs but i do not know which one to pick. I want the one that will give me the lowest height so when i install the lift blocks the rear end is not sticking up more than 2" than the front of the truck.

https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...af+spring,7544

HUSKY SPRING43711
Free Arch 7 3/8
# of Leaves 4 Over 1 = 5 Leaf
Pack Thickness 1.9375"
Load Capacity 1850 lb

HUSKY SPRING43883
Free Arch 8 7/8
# of Leaves 4 Over 1 = 5 Leaf
Pack Thickness 1.75"
Load Capacity 1655 lb

I attempted to measure what is currently under the truck and came up with a free arch of 8 1/2" and thickness of 1 13/16". Keep in mind this is with the spring bolted into place and the truck up on a jack.

My gut tells me to go with the HUSKY SPRING43711 as it has a lower free arch and might let the rear of the truck sit a little lower than stock but i have no idea. Both springs above might sit the same as the HUSKY SPRING43711has a higher load rating than the HUSKY SPRING43711.

Any suggestions? Also rock auto seems to have the cheapest shipping that is why i am look at going with them for this purchase unless you know of a cheaper setup.

Thanks in advance.
Cody

After a lot of searching i discovered the stock springs are the HUSKY SPRING43883 according to broncograveyard.com.

This being said, I will just order the following springs from Rockauto as I am unsure if the others will lower the rear-end of the truck any.

HUSKY SPRING43883
Free Arch 8 7/8
# of Leaves 4 Over 1 = 5 Leaf
Pack Thickness 1.75"
Load Capacity 1655 lb

Thanks,
Cody

I suggest contacting ATS and/ SD Truck Springs to see what they would suggest. As far as finding the flattest springs to work with the lift blocks, well, I would get the springs that will get you the height you want and toss the lift blocks in the metal recycling bin.

Thanks My4Fordtrucks for the reply.

It appears that both sites offer the same offering as rock auto in terms of spring rates for a stock 2WD 93F150. I think I have decided I do not mind the 2 1/2" rake the truck will have over the front. I will just order the ones from Rock auto as they are the cheapest shipped of any ware on the internet.

Or like you said I may just install the stock springs and forget about the rear bocks as the rear sits about 1/2" higher than the front anyway,

Thanks,
Cody

Decided to order the 1850# spring.

HUSKY SPRING43711
Free Arch 7 3/8
# of Leaves 4 Over 1 = 5 Leaf
Pack Thickness 1.9375"
Load Capacity 1850 lb

I realized the free arch is shortened as the spring rate increases. The rear end should sit at stock height with these springs as well but will handle a little more weight before sagging.

Well I was able to install the HUSKY SPRING43711 this weekend. They sit only 1/8" higher than stock but it did not fix my 3/4" lean to the drivers side issue. To resolve that issue i installed a 3/4" shim between the axle and leaf spring.

Now the reared sits within 1/8" side to side.

Did you measure the frame side to side or are you using the wheel well or somewhere else? The tailgate on my truck is closer to the bumper on the passenger side but that is most likely because one of the bed crossmembers is bad. I’ll fix that when the bed comes off this Spring. I’m just wondering if there is another reason why it looks like it is leaning i.e. bad body mount(s) on the passenger side.

I read that 80’s Jeep CJ7 had a lean to them and the factory fix was to install a shim under the right rear leaf spring.

I just measured at the fender-well but just went out and measured at the rear of the frame. The frame is within 1/8" from side to side but its on the opposite sides.
Drivers side is 34 5/8 and the passengers side is 34 3/4" to the fender-well. The frame is 1/8" higher on the drivers side than the passengers side. It makes no sense to me but it could just be how the truck is currently sitting in my garage. All the body mounts look good and the body lines seem to sign up better than they did before.
