I rec'vd the seat bolt and cruise control recall from ford..........Did anyone do the seat bolts themselves? Everytime I take my truck which is cleaner than an operating room in for a warrenty/recall problem they get grease on everything! I can only imagine what my cloth seats would look like ........Are the bolts reachable without taking the complete seat back cover off? I might just buy or talk the dealer into giving me the bolts (prolly won't give um do to liability etc...) and doing it myself..........Also does it only involve the drivers side (re-call doesn't specify).
I got the recall, made the serv. man note the seat and carpet were clean and they were not to mess it up. Got the truck detailed for free. A nother dealer told me about the noteing part it's on there paper they can't fight it.
Hmmmmmmmm...............It's gotta make ya wonder......Only the drivers side bolts are weak? Or does ford think that if the pass. side goes it's not gonna cause an accident! Prolly saving a #@%$#&^ of money by only doing one side! As far as telling the dealer to keep it clean......LOL! I saw the fat pig mechanic spraying degreaser all over the door panal and carpet last time when they did the T/belt ten........The service writer said whats the problem.....it came off.........I wanted to **** on his desk....wipe it off and say whats the problem! I told him The degreaser leaves a residue that attracts dirt.......but he couldn't comprehend that..........or just didn't give a $#@^%. I think I'll buy the bolts and do it myself!
