That’s the known script for sure.

Although as previously stated I’m new to the classic pickup game I’m not too humble to admit I’m looooonnngg in the tooth in the used purchase game. Alas, the cat I’m dealing with is a stand up, no nonsense feller.

SUCCESS!!

Lookin’ like I’m gonna be here for awhile!!!

I let him know that I’d like to tell him I wouldn’t pay a dime over 20 but I probably will. Then I asked him for the same honesty.

20 it is.

When both parties are pleased, I figure it’s a fair deal.

Sounds like a fair deal to me. Now, one of our rules is lots of pictures. You started out good, now keep it up.
Ask lots of questions. With some questions you will get 50 different opinions, but it's all good info to help you decide what you want to do.

Hope you enjoy the madness of our crazy Affliction. Lots of knowledge to be tapped here so ENJOY

If you wanna meet some of the crew, a trip to PA shouldn’t be that long of a stretch from Connecticut. Tell him about Truckstock Abe.

ZR, Truckstock is a gathering of FTE members where we just hang out and talk trucks. Most guys drive there trucks there. It's not a show, not a competition. The last two years we've been at the Bald Eagle State Park in central PA. This year it will be Sept 30 to oct 3.

Go here to read more about it. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-plan-now.html

Based on the photos I think that is a really good buy. Paint color is great and it’s really cool it still has a flatty in it. If it’s in good driving condition and the paint is glossy without signs of rust then you did great. Welcome to the old Ford truck family!!!

Nice looking truck. I'll add a couple thoughts to what others have already said.
  • There are threaded adjusters on the shift rods, you can adjust them out to move the shift lever up. You would need to adjust both the same so that neutral is in the same place for the R-1 and the 2-3 shifts for the lever at the top of the steering column.
  • Wear has a big effect on shift lever movement. There are bushings at both ends of the shift rods that wear, the ends of the shift rods wear, and the mechanism at the bottom of the steering column can wear. Ross (ALBUQ F-1) did a great write up a while back on getting this stuff back to new.
