The white lights next to the highmount brake light

What are they named? I am looking for instruction to replace the lightbulb, but the manual I have doesn't cover these, and doesn't even name them on a diagram. My sedan doesn't have anything like this so I am not even able to google something 'close enough'. Thanks in advance, especially if you can point me to the relevant instructions too!

Are you talking about the Cargo Bulbs?
They are the white lights in the 3rd brake light on the back of the cab of the truck. Just remove the screws and remove cove and replace bulbs.
The LED bulbs are HP36 and the regular ones are like Sylvania Long Life Mini Bulb - 194LLBP2

You can also run a 168 for more brightness although it may technically run too hot and/or pull too much current for the AWG

"cargo" light! That's the word I needed, thank you. I guess the screws were such a simple solution I looked right past them, oops.

If nothing else, the higher wattage in the 921 (vs 912) does a number on the plastic sockets after a while. They don’t hold bulbs very snugly at that point

Had to go go buy another lens to get the harness as well.

Glad I am not the only one having such a fine day.

It might be 921s I put in my '07...I can't remember now but man the extra light is soooo nice. I know I'm risking socket damage but apparently don't care enough to do anything about it.

The truck is white and the bed is still just painted white so the extra light really reflects nicely. I've been meaning to open it up and see EXACTLY which bulbs I used so I can also do it to our '08 but I did a nice bead of silicone when I put the housing back in and hate to "break the seal" now....

I have not investigated the LED options but in general find plug-n-play LED retrofit bulbs underwhelming

You might be able to find those sockets at NAPA.
