Spear Color

Anyone know the name of the proper red to restore these spears...???
Better yet has anyone redone these?

First, Welcome to FTE.

Since that is a 60's era truck, I it is probably Ford Rangoon Red or Carnival Red.

Agree it could be Rangoon or the Mercury equivalent. I had an artist (relative) hand paint Signal Flare Red on my 1966 GT hood inserts...............it too could be an option.

Of course it has faded a bit but I think it is very close to the red on various Ford valve covers etc... Has a little tint of orange in it. Kind of subjective and best done to suit your taste.

Have you looked at a Krylon Color Chart? For a Paint that will stick to just about anything, and is wear and fade resistant, I haven’t found anything better. At work, when I put new bearings in some of the big Chiller and Cooling Tower Fan Motors. I would Paint them with Krylon Red Paint, to tell which motors I’d rebuilt. I also repainted the Grill on my 2001 F-150, years ago and it’s still holding up. Craft Stores, have good color selections.
