2011 3.5 Eco-boost Upgrades
I am a Ford diesel guy myself and currently own a 7.3, 6.0, and a 6.4.
My wife has recently purchased a 2011 F-150 XLT Supercrew with an Eco-boost in it. I must admit that it is nicer to drive than anything I own. She has only had it for 6 months and I think she got a reasonable deal as she paid $13,000 CAN (~$10,000 USD) it is in great shape and only had 130,000 km (80,000 miles) on it when she bought it. She has had a couple problems with oil and exhaust leaks off the start which she has dealt with and it seems to be fine now.
The question(s) I have are...
Is there anything in particular the needs to be done or is recommended in terms of extra maintanence that should be done?
Any suggestions for recommended oils to use in that engine or transmission that are not listed in the manual.
Does an after market air box help with fuel economy? I do see a used S & B airbox (which I use in my diesels) here for sale where I am staying for the next week for about $200 USD. At this point I am just wondering if I should grab this air box before I leave town or if they are even worth it?
I will eventually look into a programmer and search through the forums on this site myself on that one.
We are not short on towing vehicles and the truck is just a daily driver and mainly used for highway trips.
Although I am not allowed to drive her truck unsupervised, the power is surprising but by my calculations the fuel ecomony falls well short of the advertised estimates (as usual) and clearly below that of any of the F-350 diesels I own. She has owned alot of vehicles over the years, most diesels and were used for work in the forest industry, but she has changed careers and will likely drive this F-150 for quite a number of years and put on some faily significant mileage.
Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions.

Other than that, they're pretty bullet proof. Just keep an eye on your oil changes and regular maintenance according to maintenance schedule. The transmission, do regular changes every 50k miles or so to keep it happy.
I have a drop in k&n filter, performance ignition coils, ans just modded the wastegates with retention springs, ordered a manual boost controller. I also just custom made a cold air/ram air intake. With current mods I'm pushing over 400HP and looking to take it to about 450-500HP overall. 0-60 in 6.2 right now on 93 octane.
Thanks
